Tara comes to us with a background in medical speech-language pathology, with experience in both acute care and rehabilitation hospital settings. Her work has focused primarily on the assessment and treatment of individuals with swallowing, speech (i.e., dysarthria, apraxia), language (i.e., aphasia), voice, and cognitive communication disorders as a result of stroke, brain injury, aging, neurodegenerative disease and other various factors. Tara also provides pediatric communication services for children with autism, intellectual disorders, language disorders, articulation disorders and developmental delays. Her goal is to provide both restorative and compensatory treatment for all clients to function to the best of their ability in real world settings.
Tara grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, before relocating to The United States to pursue a degree in speech-language pathology. During her time in U.S.A., she played soccer professionally in the NCAA. She is now a resident of Vancouver, and enjoys hiking, relaxing at the beach, and exploring the beautiful city!
